CHÂTEAU MAINE REYNAUD

Saint-Émilion Grand Cru

  • Château Maine Reynaud 2018 was produced from a plot  located on St-Laurent-des-Combes table-land – Lieu-dit Le Maine ans Reynaud – in the heart of Saint- Émilion’s jurisdiction.

  • Age of the plot: 35 years old vines.

  • According to the plot, the soil is sand-clay on the surface and clay in depth. Its relative lightness of the terroir gives to this wine its finesse and elegance.

  • The planted grape varieties are largely dominated by Merlot (85%), the "king grape" of Saint-Émilion, completed with Cabernet Franc (15%).

  • This St-Émilion Grand Cru was aged for 12 months in French oak barrels before being bottled at the property in the spring 2020.

  • 25,000 bottles were produces for this cuvée.

  • Tasting notes: crimson red colour; pleasant vanilla nose on a background of black and red fruits with grass forest notes; a supple attack and a nice tannic structure develops on the palate with a good sweetness; consume within 5 years.

  • Wine service: to reveal all its aromas, it recommended that the wine be opened one hour before serving and if possible decanted.
